Excellent opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join an innovative Engineering Firm for the Food Industry. The role can be located in Ireland (Sligo) or the UK (Cambridge) and will report to the Project Team Manager. The Electrical Engineer will troubleshoot electrical issues and manage internal electrical requirements and compliance from beginning to end. The ideal person will have experience in Industrial Automation & Control, PLC Programming & Configuration.

Overview of your responsibilities (full job description available on request):

  • Ensure customer electrical specifications comply with regulations and standards.

  • Manage internal electrical/electronic developments, ensuring adherence to processes, specifications, and timely, cost-effective delivery.

  • Test and troubleshoot electrical systems for identification of problems or defects.

  • Provide technical input during project bidding, including specification and drawing reviews, and instrumentation selection.

  • Develop electrical processes and procedures for full traceability in all project stages.

  • Create project documentation, including Method of Operation, FDS, and P&ID development.

  • Design electrical systems/components based on project requirements.

  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for cost-effective design solutions.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required for the Role:

  • Electrical or Electronics Engineering degree.

  • Proficient in Industrial Automation, PLC Programming, and Configuration.

  • Desirable: Experience with Industrial Schematics.

  • Understanding of electronic assembly manufacturing processes.

  • Hands-on experience in a production environment.

  • Experience in designing, developing, and testing electrical systems and machinery.

  • Skilled in diagnosing issues and developing solutions using various tools and techniques.

  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations for ensuring compliance in design and development.
