Our client, a fast-growing food manufacturing company in the midlands is seeking an EHS Specialist to assist management of the Health and Safety Program within the company. Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, The EHS Specialist will ensure compliance and best practices across all business areas.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and coordinate environmental/safety meetings and activities monthly

  • Maintain and administer the company safety manuals, standards, procedures, and other related H&S documents and training documentation.

  • Deliver and complete statutory notifications to the HSA for all accident/incident reporting.

  • Report to the business monthly on H&S KPIs.

  • Ensure records of statutory inspections are kept for all activities and plant equipment.

  • Maintain appropriate records and analysis data on accidents, reports, etc. to ensure that accurate information is available at all time.

  • Carry out regular site safety audits, risk assessments and document the findings for management, and implement necessary corrective actions.

  • Management of accident, incident, and near-miss investigations and ensuring remedial actions are put in place.

  • Facilitate the implementation, monitoring, and review of the H&S policies and implementation of new company safety procedures, as required.

  • Assist in developing delivery and maintenance of in-house safety training programs, including manual handling, fire/evacuation training.

  • Delivering H&S induction programs for new employees/contractors.

  • Support system audit and inspection requirements of EHS Management Systems.

  • Monitor Occupational and Environmental Health & Safety Legislation and developments to keep the business up to date.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous Experience within a EHS Specialist role within a Manufacturing Environment.

  • Diploma/BSc/MSc in Environment Health, and Safety Discipline

  • Ability to carry out effective investigations, audits, and inspections and compile reports and recommendations as appropriate.

  • Strong Communication and Written Skills.

  • Positive, energetic, and focused, with good organisational ability.
