We are currently recruiting for an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer to join our pharmaceutical client's team in Sligo on a permanent contract.
Responsibilities:
- Drive and maintain high standards of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) performance across the site
- Promote a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement mindset throughout the organisation
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable EHS legislation, regulations, and internal standards
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust EHS systems, policies, and procedures
- Oversee contractor safety management processes and track associated KPIs
- Support site compliance with global EHS standards, ISO frameworks, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and leadership to enhance EHS performance
- Deliver and monitor EHS training programmes to ensure employee competency
- Conduct risk assessments and support ongoing hazard identification and mitigation activities
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (Level 8) in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
- 3–5 years’ experience in an EHS role within a regulated manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment
- Strong knowledge of EHS legislation, compliance frameworks, and management systems
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards is advantageous
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proven ability to manage projects and influence cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to work under pressure
