A leading Irish company are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Distribution Manager. The main purpose of the role is to lead and oversee the day-to-day activities from their Roscommon base and their regional depots, ensuring all Customers are fully serviced to the company’s high standard. You will ensure their customers receive an excellent level of customer service and plan logistics maximizing efficiency and route value. The successful candidate will work as part of the management team, supervising and de-briefing the drivers while also working with other departments to ensure a smooth service.
Responsible for developing and maintaining a high-level employee morale and dedication to serving Customers
Coordinate with the Distribution Supervisors on the development of the distribution strategy
Ensure all KPI’s are monitored and corrective action implemented for any KPI’s not within the acceptable levels
Ensure complete use of relevant system by the Distribution team in your region.
Monitoring of the Tom Tom reports and any exceptions to be resolved.
Monthly KPI performance analysis;
Monitor the performance of distribution against expected criteria and implement improvement plans as required;
Routes and Drivers to be planned 8 weeks in advance where possible.
Assignment of vehicles to drivers. Ensuring maximum utilisation of vehicles.
Managing any issues which may arise from Customers or Drivers on all routes.
A full, clean driving licence with previous delivery experience required,
Excellent people management and interpersonal skills,
Strong IT skills – ability to navigate POD and Tom Tom systems, extract reports and interpret data,
Strong negotiation & influencing abilities,
Approachable with excellent communication skills (spoken and written),
Excellent organisational skills, being able to prioritise daily tasks,
Relentless commitment to quality and high standards of customer service.
Experience in a Distribution Supervisory capacity will be a distinct advantage.
