This Fastly growing innovative organisation, focuses on renewing sustainable solutions in plastics recycling. They seek a Commercial Manager to drive European business growth. Responsibilities include shaping sales strategy, business development, and account management. The ideal candidate should possess strong sales and business development skills, industry knowledge, and a commitment to sustainability.
This Organisation is based in Co. Meath, the successful candidate can be based remotely as there will be travel (Ireland & Europe) in this role. You will be required onsite for Business meetings etc. Ideally this person will be available to go onsite weekly but not a necessity for the scope of the role.
As the new lead on commercial activities, you will play an integral role as a member of the senior management team, leading and driving the overall business plan and future growth activities. You will be a commercial visionary who will help secure the future growth and continued success of the business.
You will lead the development of commercial strategies and oversee the delivery of commercial plans, formulating business strategy with senior management and turning vision into tangible commercial plans and ultimately positive financial results for the business.
The preferred candidate will be a highly organised and driven self-starter, with a demonstrable record of delivery in a similar role ideally within the plastics industry, where the building and maintaining of strong, positive relationships with customers / suppliers is a central focus. This individual will also have experience of exploring new markets and experience of working within a fast-paced, results-driven commercial environment.

Responsibilities (Full job spec provided upon request):
Produce a sales strategy and plan for the Organisation, including targets and, on approval from the CEO, to implement the plan in line with the overall business needs
Lead contract negotiations in sales and supply, ensuring favourable terms and conditions. Monitor contract performance and manage any variations that may arise during the contract lifecycle.
Conduct detailed financial analysis to support decision-making processes. Develop and implement cost control measures to optimize profitability.
Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with commercial aspects of contracts. Implement strategies to minimize risk and maximize opportunities for the company.
Collaborate with senior management teams to develop and manage budgets. Track financial performance against budget and implement corrective actions as necessary
Generating and managing sustainable and profitable sales, particularly targeting customers where a long-term mutually advantageous partnership exists or can be developed
Support the company building and managing a commercial excellence, against budget to target sectors
Identify opportunities for new product sales
Keep up to date and report on legislation, market trends, or other intelligence that may affect the business
Develop and nurture key relationships with customers and suppliers
Recognise and exploit trading opportunities
To create training plans for your direct reports, and to conduct regular appraisals in line with company policy
Third level financial or commercial qualification.
3 - 5 years’ experience in a senior commercial role
An in-depth knowledge of the plastics industry.
Analytical skills for financial evaluation and risk assessment.
Proven track record of successful contract negotiations and management.
Apt to building relationships across a business
Proven experience of building sales year on year
Awareness of the importance of brand development
