Commercial Account Handler | Sligo

Our client, a well-established Insurance Brokerage is recruiting for a Commercial Account Handler to join their growing team. This is a permanent contract based in Sligo town.

This role will involve, assisting the team in managing a portfolio of SME risks. The successful candidate will be responsible for building a professional rapport with customers when arranging, altering or renewing their insurances.


As a Commercial Account Handler, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Issuing renewal documentation to clients and following up to ensure retention of the account
  • Managing a portfolio of existing SME client
  • Renew all types of Commercial Policies including Combined, Retail, Liability
  • Cross-selling to connected personal lines policies as well as some new business development
  • Issuing of new business quotations
  • Servicing of accounts including mid-term alterations, handling of claims etc
  • Dealing with client queries and providing excellent levels of service to our clients
  • Adhering to all compliance requirements


  • 2/3 years experience working in a Commercial Lines role within an insurance brokerage
  • Working towards CIP, APA Commercial or grandfathered qualification
  • Strong insight into business’s ways of working and their needs
  • To have the ability and experience to identify business opportunities
  • RELAY broker system experience
  • Good working knowledge of insurers' online platforms
