Our client a global leading engineering solutions company is seeking to hire a Chief Operating Officer. This role requires somebody experienced in the operational delivery of multiple significant projects, along with the overall management of the operations team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer. A fully hybrid working model is in operation between home, office and site

Overview of Main Responsibilities (full job description available on request):

  • Accountable for all aspects of operations
  • Drive project productivity, achieving operational targets and attaining project KPI’s
  • Manage and ensure the health and safety of the employees and compliance with HSE construction & HV Safety requirements
  • Lead the management of Sub-contractor and Client operational relationships
  • Lead and champion Quality assurance across the organisation
  • Promote Safety First & HV Safety compliance
  • Support the Bid/Tender process
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement
  • Senior Recruitment and Succession Planning
  • Promote sustainable profitability
  • Contribute to the company’s strategic planning process and support its implementation
  • Translate business goals into departmental and individual goals and communicate effectively to your team

What the ideal candidate looks like:·       

  • Electrical Engineering degree or Equivalent
  • Qualified Chartered Engineer would be desirable
  • Senior Construction Industry Management experience
  • Power-biased experience (HV/MV) would be beneficial
  • Strong commercial awareness and identification of contractual opportunities, as well as ability to develop the overall business
  • Previous people management experience with demonstrated ability to lead, influence and train others
