North West Hospice Charity are currently recruiting for a Charity Manager. North West Hospice supports the provision of specialist palliative care for those living with life-limiting illness in our communities in Sligo, Leitrim, South Donegal and West Cavan. To help achieve their vision, North West Hospice Charity will continue to raise €1 million annually to not only help fund these essential services but to develop high-quality, enhanced palliative care services for all who need them.
The Charity Manager shall have overall responsibility for the management and function of North West Hospice Charity including the overall team management across finance, fundraising and Charity shop. He/she shall be responsible for policy formulation, the strategic development of the Charity, compliance and managing administrative and financial resources, and for implementing policy decisions approved by the Board of Directors. The role requires a high level of commitment in energy, enthusiasm and time to ensure the continued success of the Charity.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Management and Leadership
Lead and manage all aspects of fundraising and ensure compliance in all the standards as per the Charity Regulator governance code on behalf of North West Hospice Board of Directors.
In conjunction with the Board of Directors, prepare and deliver the strategic plan as approved by the Board of North West Hospice Charity and in collaboration with other key stakeholders.
Financial Management
Assist the financial security and probity of North West Hospice Charity including all accounting and financial management systems, to meet the standards required by the Charity Regulator and all other legal and statutory bodies.
Develop clear and deliverable financial strategies that ensure the sustainable future of North West Hospice Charity
Develop, implement and adhere to operating and capital budgets and provide Board of Directors with relevant and meaningful financial information on a quarterly basis or as required.
Ensure that fundraising strategies meet the needs of North West Hospice Charity and support delivery of the overall strategy of North West Hospice specialist Palliative care clinical services.
Ensure that all resources including staff, volunteers, buildings and facilities are utilised effectively.
Relationship Management
Ensure positive relationships are maintained with all relevant levels of contacts in day to day operations, Board of Directors and the Operational Management Committee for North West Hospice specialist palliative care services.
Establish clear operational policies and effective arrangements for promoting constructive and positive relations with the media and the general public.
Utilise sound public relations and marketing activity to promote the work of North West Hospice Charity within the local community and nationally.
Establish and maintain positive working relationship with national palliative fundraising groups/ charities.
Will have the capacity to represent North West Hospice Charity at National / Regional Forums.
Key Requirements:
A strong strategist, with the ability to work with the Board of Directors to define a clear direction for North West Hospice Charity and articulate that vision both inside and outside the organisation.
Demonstrable evidence of strategic development and leading people/ organisations through successful change.
Solid track record of effectively managing resources and budgets, with experience of delivering long term financial sustainability and stewardship of valuable resources.
Able to forge and nurture partnerships and collaborative relationships with a wide range of organisations both inside and outside charitable sectors.
Establish clear operational policies and effective arrangements for promoting constructive and positive relations with the media and the general public.
Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the palliative care health care environment, and challenges for North West Hospice charity.
Understand, identify with and be a role model for the vision and values of North West Hospice Charity.
