The Role
As a Junior Buyer, you will play a key role in supporting procurement operations and ensuring the efficient supply of materials and products. Your responsibilities will include:
- Researching, selecting, and purchasing quality products and materials
- Building strong relationships with suppliers and negotiating competitive pricing
- Processing requisitions and providing updates on order status
- Monitoring and updating inventory to maintain optimal stock levels
- Coordinating transport and tracking orders to ensure timely delivery
- Analysing market trends to support informed purchasing decisions
- Collaborating with inventory teams, management, and stockroom staff
- Assessing the quality of incoming goods and escalating any discrepancies
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Strong proficiency in relevant software systems
- Excellent negotiation and critical thinking skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
