Our client, a manufacturing company based in Waterford City is looking to hire a Buyer to join their supply chain team. The role is being offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role would ideally suit someone who has buying/procurement/supply chain experience within the manufacturing industry. The purpose of the role is to maximise purchasing opportunities per PPV results and cost reduction initiatives in line with company objectives while maintaining inventory levels.
Using company ERP system ( SAP) to drive MRP to procurement based on supporting the sites master production plans- liaising with supplier, both internally and externally, sales and production departments
Support initiatives around research and evaluate potential vendors and suppliers.
Supporting buying for Upstream manufacturing area lines in line with Sales, Operation Capacity and planned stock levels
Raising stock transfer orders from external sources and vendor consignment stocking.
Review MRP calculations to support department purchase budgets for raw materials , WIP and other materials
Source new vendors ,as needed, including subcontracting suppliers for Upstream
Reviewing of existing procurement model and identifying any areas for improvement and innovation as well.
Support creation and admin of contracts for pricing and supply.
Track incoming inventory, delivery arrival time and support warehouse booking in process
Organise and update database of suppliers, delivery times, invoices, and quantity of supplies.
Support new product introduction and business development activities.
Actively support Head of Supply Chain in budget review process.
Ensure externally sourced materials/components are to quality standard specified by the Company.
Skills & Experience Required
2+ years experience in a procurement role preferably in the FMCG sector
SAP (Procurement Domain) experience desirable
3rd level qualification in Business, Materials Management, Supply Chain Management/Logistics or relevant
A good understanding of Lean Manufacturing
Extensive use of MRP/MPS tools
