Business Development Manager (Electrical bias) required for a leading utility solutions provider in Cork. The BD Manager will be primarily responsible for Business Development across the company, including

  • BD relevant to all areas of the company.

  • Carry out market research.

  • Supply Chain development  

  • Branding and profile enhancement for the company.

  • Acquisition research.

The BD Manager will also have a Bid Management brief in support of the Commercial Director. The BD Manager will be responsible for managing a Bid from initial assessment through to contract award, including value proposition/strategy development, solution development, commercial considerations, partner identification, and risk management.

Overview of Main Responsibilities (full job description on request):

  • Responsible for the production, quality, and timely delivery of compliant, commercially sounds, market-leading, winning bids and proposals.

  • Manage the Customer experience and relationship.

  • Manage the Supplier experience and relationship.

  • Plan and manage bid teams and inputs from a variety of internal stakeholders.

  • Track and effectively manage issues and risks throughout the bid process.

  • Contribute to the written proposal - both in terms of content and presentation.

  • Ensure Bids have gone through the appropriate commercial signoff process.

  • Manage the contractual and compliance processes relating to all opportunities and customer engagements.

  • Manage the handover process (to Operations) for all won opportunities.

  • Ensure that all bid documentation produced is fully compliant with customer requirements.

  • Support and assist the Commercial Director in all BD-related matters.

What the ideal candidate looks like:

  • Third-level degree.

  • Experience in MV/HV electrical work would be beneficial.

  • Structured, action-orientated approach. 

  • Experience managing multiple internal and external stakeholders.

  • Previous BD & Bid management and presales experience.

  • Understand the procurement processes.

  • Proficient at producing and presenting proposals.
