Our client a world leader in the design, distribution and manufacturing of world class worktops from Galway are continuing their growth into the Irish and UK Markets and further into Europe.

They are looking to add a Business Development Manager to their team to strategically identify business opportunities, generate that business and close sales.


Core Role:

 

  • Achieve growth and hit sales targets within budget whilst maintaining agreed profit margins. Meet and exceed all internal KPI’s agreed with management.
  • Follow up on leads generated in Customer Service calls for new business. Medium to large accounts
  • Work with a project team on a segment by segment attack on niche sectors of the market in a project team format.
  • Effectively communicate the benefits and value of our clients products to customers and potential customers.
  • Develop the company name and strategy in the market place.
  • Train all distributors in our clients product range, USP’s of products and technical information where relevant.
  • Equip distributors’ sales team with relevant POS and marketing material as per department relevancy. (field, showroom, tele etc.)
  • Liaise with our clients customer service and marketing teams in how we implement proposed campaigns – mailshot, digital, outbound call and tandem visit to distributors.
  • Quoting/tendering for larger one-off projects.
  • Update and maintain contacts and record customer visits on a CRM package. (ACT)
  • Work with Customer Service to resolve customer issues and follow up on any outstanding balances.
  • Accurately forecast annual, quarterly and monthly revenue streams.
  • Identify objectives, strategies and action plans to improve short and long term sales and earnings.
  • Perform sales activities on major accounts and negotiate sales prices and discounts in consultation with Managing/Sales Director
  • Follow all sales policies, practices and procedures
  • Responsibility to manage the company resources in a safe and cost effective manner (specifically must ensure the safe running of the company car)


 

Role Development:

  • Review all marketing material and POS and ensure it is fit for purpose.
  • Review top 10 customers outside of “key” accounts and identify growth opportunities.
  • Liaise with distributors and identify gaps in the market to build targeted campaigns to increase sales.
  • Review customer profiles and implement segmentation where necessary.
  • Review how our client communicate with distributors and end users – social media, mailshots, trade shows.
  • Review underdeveloped customers to identify potential business growth.
  • Screen our clients competition and perform a SWOT analysis in order to develop strategies to grow the business.
  • Develop product range – review ongoing new product pipeline for our client
  • Research and review potential new products in emerging markets (identify, research, SWOT analysis in other markets, finance). Launching same to the market.
  • Review all showroom displays and put a plan in place to refit with our client accordingly.
