Assistant Stock Controller

An excellent opportunity for an Assistant Stock Controller to join a leading supplier to the construction industry in Cork. This will be a permanent role based from Cork City.

Role Overview:

The main purpose of the role is supporting the stock control manager on delivering a stock control operation in line with the business stock control policies and procedures. While the role will have specific responsibilities it will always include other duties to be carried out as required, by the Stock Control Manager including the fostering of good stock management.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Support the stock control manager in executing the annual stock take

  • Stock take discrepancies review

  • Negative stock analysis

  • Monitor stock holding levels

  • Monitor and reporting slow moving and obsolete stock

  • Physical Stock storage management review

  • Stock returns to suppliers analysis

  • Ad-hoc stock count checks

  • Stock location and stock barcode maintenance

  • Investigating general stock discrepancies

Role Requirements:

  • A motivated, hardworking individual who works well in a team

  • Assertive communicator with strong interpersonal skills

  • You are computer literate and comfortable working with computer systems and have competence with Word, Excel & Outlook

  • Proven ability to plan, organise and co-ordinate activities in a fast-moving working environment that is customer focused

  • Acute problem solving skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with managers at all levels

  • Fluent English speaker
