Senior Accounts Assistant

As an Assistant Accountant reporting directly to the Chief Financial officer, you will be responsible for a broad range of tasks including Payroll management, accounts payable, general ledger management, reconciliations, month end processes and accounts receivable duties. You will further be required to liaise with internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis and have strong leadership skills with a continuous improvement focus.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Review all purchase invoices for appropriate documentation and detail, and clarify with internal stakeholders for approval as necessary
  • Code all invoices to company finance software system, Sage Line 50
  • Maintain and update all accounts payable data
  • Reconcile vendor statements to company purchase ledger, research and correct discrepancies
  • Prepare and submit customer invoices in line with customer contracts
  • Respond to customer accounts’ queries via phone and email
  • Calculate individual monthly earnings and deductions for 50 plus employees, taking account of fluctuating categories e.g. hol pay, advances, unpaid leave, sick pay, Bike to Work schemes, PRSA and LPT etc
  • Process statutory deductions (PAYE, PRSI, USC)
  • Preparation of Financial Reports for Audit Purposes
  • SEPA Bulk Transfer using File Gateway and Payments Plus
  • Issuing of payslips to all staff
  • Lead the implementation and operation of global expense and travel system
  • Assist with the implementation of new finance system
  • Other ad hoc finance projects

 

Requirements 

  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite, Sage 50 Accounts, Sage Micropay
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to efficiently and professionally handle multiple tasks
  • Experience of dealing with suppliers & internal stakeholders
  • Strong organizational and administrative experience
