This Assistant Accountant position is a permanent role with a US multinational based in Athlone. The position is responsible for general ledger-related reporting duties for North American entities.
This is a great opportunity for a part-qualified accountant/assistant accountant to join a well-established finance team, get the opportunity to work with a global finance team and on exciting projects that they are working on.
They offer a hybrid working model and will support the assistant accountant as they pursue their accounting qualification.
Responsibilities:
· Assist US GL Team members in preparation of US GAAP accounts and month-end close
· Posting of key journals in accordance with month-end checklist
· Completion of Balance sheet reconciliations in line with Corporate deadlines
· Facilitate preparation of month-end reporting packs and supplementary reports
· Preparation of Intercompany reconciliations
· Interaction with the Transaction Processing group in Athlone and North Carolina
· Provide information requested by internal and external auditors
Essential Skills/Experience
· Must be part a Qualified Accountant (pursuing qualification with ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
· Must have a Business Degree or Diploma including Accounting
· Previous Experience in a multinational/shared services environment is desired but not essential
· Experience using SAP is desirable but not essential.
· Excellent IT skills with a working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Strong attention to detail with good time management skills
· The ability to work effectively under pressure and to strict deadlines and in a fast-paced environment
