Accounts Payable Manager

Accounts Payable Manager – 12 month contract – Oranmore Galway
Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise the accounts payable team ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of all account payable functions
  • Take full responsibility for end-to-end accounts payable process including invoice processing, approvals workflows, payment runs and approvals and associated reconciliations.
  • Review and approval of weekly travel & subsistence claims in line with public sector and internal policy.
  •  
  • Oversee supplier management including supplier setup, bank changes and supplier’s ledger setup and approvals within our finance system. Supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Ensure strong internal controls are maintained, strong focus on compliance, governance and audit readiness
  • Provide oversight and approval of all revenue returns and reconciliation of associated control accounts.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for review and approval
  • Assist in providing backup for the of annual financial statements.
  • Assist with ad-hoc finance requirements including payroll processing as required from time to time.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in an accounts payable team in a very busy accounts payable environment, preferably supervising and managing the team/function.
  • Strong knowledge of public sector and revenue rules as applicable to invoices, prompt payment, Professional Services Withholding Tax (PSWT), Relevant Contracts Tax (RCT) and Travel and subsistence regulations.
  • Strong IT skills including the use of MS Office, MS Teams and MS SharePoint.
  • Proven experience using ERP systems in a finance environment.
  • Relevant third level qualification or other qualification with relevant experience in Finance or Accounting.
  • Excellent organisation skills.
  • Effective communication skills at multiple levels.
  • Ability to balance multiple deadlines and delivery of outputs in a busy environment.
  • Ideally bring some public sector experience.
  • Ideally to have familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics Navision, Business Central or similar ERP system.
  • Ideally brings some experience in payroll processing or supervision of same.
