Accounts Assistant | Part-Time

We are seeking a motivated and detail-orientated Part-Time Accounts Assistant to join an indigenous organisation based on the South side of Cork City. In this role, you will primarily focus on Accounts Payable, maintaining the general ledger, and assisting with payroll functions. An option to work from home will be available once you are settled into the role. Familiarity with Navision and Excel is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.

  • Ensure all invoices are properly coded, approved, and matched with purchase orders when necessary.

  • Prepare and process payments to suppliers in a timely manner.

  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.

  • Assist in maintaining the general ledger by accurately recording financial transactions.

  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure the accuracy of ledger entries.

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of employee payroll.

  • Assist in maintaining payroll records, including time and attendance data.

  • Help resolve employee payroll inquiries and discrepancies.

  • Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and tax requirements.

  • Input financial data into the Navision system with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Prepare Excel spreadsheets and reports as required.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the finance department and contribute to their implementation.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years previous experience in a similar role.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.

  • Experience with payroll processing and payroll software is desirable.

  • Proficiency in using accounting software, preferably Navision.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
