Accounts Assistant

A leading manufacturer is currently seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their team on an initial 3-month contract, based in Little Island, Cork. As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a key role in managing financial transactions and providing support to the finance team. Intact IQ systems experience is highly desirable, but strong accounting systems knowledge is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Receivable/Payable: Manage invoices, process payments, and maintain records for both incoming and outgoing transactions. .
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of transactions and account balances.
  • Credit Control: Manage credit control processes, liaising with customers and sales representatives to ensure accounts are maintained in good order and payments are received on time.
  • Maintain organised and up-to-date financial records, both physical and electronic, ensuring confidentiality and security.
  • Assist in analysing financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ad hoc Tasks: Support the finance team with various ad hoc projects and tasks as needed.

Requirements:

  • Excellent accounting systems knowledge – Intact IQ experience is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in a similar Accounts Assistant role.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
