Account Manager (Munster)

The Opportunity

Do you get a buzz from building great relationships with new and existing customers, whilst generating these into tangible sales? Are you passionate about the outdoors industry, do you have a good understanding of the world of Irish Outdoor, Sports, Fashion Retail, or Wholesale? If so, our client is looking for a driven and passionate Account Manager to join our team in Ireland. Ideally, you will have a keen interest and proven sales background in outdoor, lifestyle, sports, or fashion and experience in a national or regional role. 

About the role

You will need to take full ownership of established accounts for two of our well-known brands in Ireland and identify new customers and opportunities to grow the business. You will be used to working in a fast-paced environment and will be passionate about establishing strong relationships, highly motivated, and keen to increase revenue from an established national customer base. You will need to possess an entrepreneurial spirit to find and develop new customer partnerships. You will be Munster based to be close to our showroom and will travel extensively throughout Ireland. You will also be required to travel to product launches in Ireland or abroad for a maximum of 5 days twice per year

Key Responsibilities (full role responsibilities are not limited to the below list)

  • Achieve annual, seasonal, and monthly budget and profit targets.

  • Deliver professional and Impactful range presentations.

  • Seasonal forecasting is completed to ensure budgets are achieved and the business knows your region’s product requirements.

  • The order book is managed to ensure that forward order targets are achieved, and order conversion is managed effectively and efficiently.

  • Sell-through data is monitored to ensure that all commercial opportunities are capitalised on and that key elements are shared across the business in an inclusive and formal manner.

  • The marketing plans for each customer are managed effectively – budgets are adhered to, and the best value is gained from any investment with support from your line manager.

  • Each brand always looks its best in-store by the supply and implementation of seasonal assets including imagery, in-store unitary, and POS materials.

  • Seasonal product and sales training is carried out with customer store and head office staff so that new and existing product innovations are understood and appreciated.

  • Feedback on customers and the marketplace in which you operate is prepared and communicated using appropriate formal or informal channels to the relevant person(s) or team(s) internally.

The ideal candidate

  • A proven track record in proactive account management and experience in selling apparel and footwear in a regional or national role

  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications such as Excl, Work and PowerPoint

  • Self-motivation with a pro-active attitude

  • Capability to provide outstanding customer service

  • Highly enthusiastic, self-motivated, and conscientious

  • Results orientated – motivated by winning orders and hitting targets

  • An interest in the outdoors and outdoor apparel, footwear, and equipment

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Ability to work within margin guidance to achieve best results for the business

  • Adopt a responsible approach to costs, ensuring lower costs options are chosen where possible as per company expenses policy and have a general awareness of financial constraints and impact of current business performance on the P&L
