Advanced Manufacturing Engineer - Cork

Summary: Leads the development of processes and procedures for the manufacture of New Products.
 
Description:

Drives innovation in new process development. Coordinate, conduct and document all necessary testing and validation prior to and during design transfer into manufacturing.  Develop robust, repeatable and capable processes to ensure product safety, efficacy, quality and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilties:

  • Investigation, design, development and implementation of new manufacturing processes and technologies to support the introduction and manufacture of new products
  • Ensure that all goals relating to product quality, product cost, process yield, cycle-time, workstation and cell ergonomics, and manufacturing line efficiencies are achieved during new product and process development.
  • Procurement, contract negotiation, installation, validation of new manufacturing equipment, tooling and fixtures. 
  • Compilation of Capital Expenditure Requisitions.
  • Liaise with supply chain personnel for specification of raw materials, components, sub assemblies, process consumables and the sourcing, auditing and validation of new suppliers.
  • Handover of new processes from development to manufacturing. Ensure all appropriate engineering prints, MAPS and all other essential process related documentation is in place prior to production start.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Engineering or Masters Degree (Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Materials Science).
  • Good computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, data base).
  • Working knowledge of CAD/CAM/CAE computer systems.
  • 3-5 Years related Engineering experience in an R&D or manufacturing environment and/or a Masters Degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering will also be considered.
