Description:

Cell Device Engineer

Truly unique opportunity to join fully funded leading edge comany at exciting early stage. Apply electrical parameter analysis + physical analytical techniques to increase efficiency and lifetime in thin film solar cells

The candidate must apply electrical parameter analysis and physical analytical techniques to increase efficiency and lifetime in thin film solar cells at the pilot and production scales. Ability to use databases and manipulate large amounts of data is a must, along with basic understanding of semiconductor physics and PV devices.


Participate in vendor quality management as well as product quality verification. Drive yield and cost improvement initiatives with manufacturing.

Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:

  • MSc in electrical engineering or related field plus 2-3 years industrial experience with semiconductor device testing and quality analysis.
  • Ideally you will have a Phd qualification
     

The key responsibilities for the role are:

  • To design and create innovative electronics based solutions. To optimize or enable the use of our clients base PV material as energy for portable electronic devices.
  • Create mock-ups and proof of concept prototypes and samples
  • Develop relationships and work closely with customers to ensure that performance and design expectations are aligned with the product specification.
  • Ensure that designs are suitable for high volume manufacture in line with cost requirements.
  • Establish clear performance criteria for components/systems and translate these into test standards for manufacturers, suppliers and customers
  • Develop, test and fault find diagnostics for trial products and field trials.
  • Experience designing solar based products would be valuable.
