  • Primary point of contact and accountable for the efficient and effective running of production line(s) through the contribution of the line support team(s). Through his or her management style, the Supervisor actively demonstrates and propagates the core values of BSC. He or she is a strong team player and demonstrates this through the integration of key goals with appropriate other functions (e.g. Engineering, Quality, Production, Logistics, Finance, HR etc).


  • Accountable for the maximisation of resources available to deliver outstanding results on all key performance metrics on particular line(s).
  • Provides strong, capable leadership and clear direction to all team members, including all support functions.
  • Promotes quality and customer satisfaction as a way of life in all activities.
  • Ensures the site is compliant to all direct training requirements.
  • Continue to improve and enhance the Training Methodology program for direct employees in Cork.
  • Liase with corporate direct training on specific training projects and initiatives.
  • Represent the site on corporate projects related to direct training, TRS etc.
  • Manage and develop direct reports to achieve business goals and objectives.
  • Manage and develop direct reports to achieve business goals and objectives.
  • Champions effective communications with the relevant Management Team members.
  • Demonstrates a flexible management style and is adept at utilising the appropriate style for the given situation.
  • Identifies and drives continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Drives adherence to regulatory and GMP requirements.
  • Champion the deployment and ongoing use of Lean tools and techniques in his/ her area to identify and drive continuous improvement in order to meet all key performance metrics.
  • Demonstrates through his / her management style respect for the core values of BSC and a commitment to teamwork.
  • Develop and report on metrics for his / her area to meet overall operational goals & objectives.
  • Project planning, in detail, in support of major projects, product/process transfer etc.
  • Demonstrates strong strategic planning capabilities.
  • Be capable of leading and managing the team in providing permanent solutions to technical / quality issues.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work on major cross functional projects.
  • Demonstrates excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritise effectively and manage situations as they evolve.
  • Ensures the team are using effective problem solving techniques.

Management Requirements

  • May lead a group or team of employees in the achievement of organizational goals. Guide, coach, direct, and develop direct reports, and if applicable, drive those practices throughout their organization.
  • Foster a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.
  • May direct and control the activities and budget of one or more functional areas, divisions, product groups, projects/programs and/or operations.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. federal/country and regulatory requirements).

Job Scope and Leveling Guidelines

  • Scope: Accomplishes tasks mainly through direct supervision of support and entry level professional employees. Monitors progress toward departmental goals; monitors costs of projects and human and material resources within a department or unit. Receives task-oriented work assignments that are subject to a moderate level of control.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science / Engineering or relevant qualification.
  • 3/4 years experience in a supervisory capacity in a manufacturing environment.
  • Good knowledge of GMP / FDA regulatory requirements, housekeeping, health and safety.
  • Previous experience in metals processing would be an advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
