My client builds security software for global customers throughout North/South America, Europe and Asia-Pacific. This is a highly technical position for someone that is comfortable working on a fast-paced release cycle. Because we are a global company with customers using our platform all over the world, this position requires working non-standard business hours.

The ideal candidate has a breadth of experience helping architect, develop, monitor and manage large-scale software platforms for AWS. And of course, if you have an interest and/or background in security, we should talk.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Collaborate with software engineering to deploy and operate our platform.
  • Automate and streamline our operations and processes
  • Build and maintain tools for deployment
  • Monitor the platform
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, test and production environments.
  • Provide expertise on engineering best practices, standards, architectural approaches and complex technical resolutions for processes.
  • Oversee quality improvement using Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD) efforts to ensure that deliverables are secure, scalable and reliable
  • Lead and build strong global software development engineering teams and a strong, positive software engineering culture.
  • All other duties and responsibilities and may be assigned.
  • Night shift to facilitate 24/5 support environment. Three week rotation 

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration
  • Experience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Chef or an equivalent
  • Experience implementing strategies such as blue-green deployments, phoenix environments, immutable infrastructure, and infrastructure as code.
  • Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (experience with AWS is required)
  • Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
  • A working understanding of code and script (Java, Python and Bash)
  • Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
  • Self-starter with strong work ethic and ability to excel as part of a geographically diverse team.
  • Comfortable with Agile development practices like unit tests, and code reviews.
  • Fluency in English, Spanish a big plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work non-standard business hours.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge of enterprise security/threat intelligence/threat detection a big plus.
  • Experience in Network security is a plus.
  • Experience with application security a plus.
  • Open source security tools: OSSEC, snort, Metasploit, Nessus
  • Tools: Github, Atlassian tools, RunDeck, Artifactory, Maven, Docker, Terraform, ElasticSearch, Fortify
