Job Purpose

The R& D team are responsible for developing new photochromic ophthalmic lens products. As part of the team you will be responsible for carrying out product development for new products such as formulating new coating chemistries, as well as the associated processes. You will ensure the effective technology transfer from the R&D facilities to plant sites globally for process development, improvement and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities of the Role

    Develop, validate and implement new products and associated production processes

    Improve existing products and processes

    Perform process experiments and lab tests

    Evaluate results and make recommendations

    Support new product and platform introductions

    Provide technical solutions to issues reported from end-user customers

    Effectively transfer process and product knowledge from R&D to operation sites globally

    Plan projects, report results, maintaining all necessary documentation

Key Requirements

    Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Materials or Polymer Science

    Keen interest in hands-on laboratory work and process development

    Very good communication skills, both written and oral

    Working knowledge of statistics

    Strong team player

    Drive for results

    Decision maker

    Customer focus

    Building strong work relationships (Interpersonal savvy)


Experimental design knowledge/experience would be an advantage
