Role of the NPD Manager:

The successful person will have responsibility for the delivery of new products and processes to the market based upon agreed strategic targets and goals.  To have a passion for good food and a strong knowledge of the market and trends etc.  A strong leader with the ability to work effectively with others. The NPD Manager will be responsible for dealing and communicating with Irish & UK Retailers and will also need to demonstrate successful development & launch achievements.

The NPD manager will report directly to the NPD Director.

 

NPD Manager responsibilities:

  • Development of new product and packaging concepts, expansion and refreshment of existing product platforms and ranges.
  • Understanding and interpreting market trends, customer and market led briefs.
  • Scope-Customer direct interface, concept development, raw material sourcing, NPI process [with a functional NPI team], launch process and optimisation of product on shelf.
  • Planning and management of Customer Launch Calendars
  • Setting & Managing NPD budget
  • Setting and achieving KPI targets for NPD department
  • Enhance NPD and NPI internal processes

 

Key Experience & Skills:

  • Third level degree in Food / Bakery / Related [Technical/ Scientific/ Applied]
  • NPD Management experience – Consumer Food / Bakery – Minimum 3/5 years.
  • Experienced with Irish & UK Retailers
  • Demonstrate successful development & launch achievements
  • Culinary flair and interest – drive and passion for food
  • Interest & knowledge of food trends – how to translate into bakery
  • Excellent people management experience
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Confident presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office   
  • Availablity to Travel to UK whe required.
