Equipment Development Engineer – County Galway

As a key member of the Global Engineering team you will support with the design and testing of new equipment platforms in accordance with the needs of R&D and Operations.


  • Support the deployment of efforts associated with disruptive technologies
  • Conceptual and detailed mechanical design
  • Complete detailed designs of parts and assemblies for fabrication
  • Ensure all equipment conforms to EH&S standards
  • Perform test work as required to characterise, optimise and validate processes
  • Manage the fabrication of prototype parts and fixture using equipment and fabrication vendors and or in-house additive manufacturing
  • Support equipment bidding and procurement process as required
  • Ensure equipment is documented appropriately in EPDM
  • Troubleshoot/consult with other facilities on the deployment of Global Engineering equipment

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years industry experience with machining practices and techniques (multi-axis CNC mill, lathe)
  • Degree in Engineering, mechanical /electrical or related field
  • Interpersonal savvy

  • Personal Learning
  • In-depth knowledge of SolidWorks 3D modeling, AutoCad
  • Demonstrated ability to transform concepts into practical designs using appropriate materials and practices
  • Document designs effectively considering mechanical stack up and tolerancing
  • Proficient in interpreting and generating detailed 2D mechanical drawings
