CMCN Athlone Office at the Athlone Chamber Business Awards

Congratulations from Collins McNicholas to all the winners and nominees at the Athlone Chamber Business Awards!

As members of the Athlone Chamber of Commerce we were delighted to attend the inaugural business awards held in the Sheraton last Saturday evening to celebrate the achievements of local businesses. The event was sponsored by an array of companies representing a cross section of business activity in the region; the sponsors ranged in size from multinationals to SMEs and family run businesses, and were from a variety of business sectors, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, retail, food, professional services, technology and financial services companies.

The awards attracted over 320 business representatives from Athlone with a full house attending the Gala Dinner. They had over 80 nominations for 13 awards in different categories. The atmosphere was terrific and it was great to be part of such vibrancy and renewed business confidence in the midlands region.

Congratulations to all the winners on the night, especially James McGee of Athlone Extrusions for a life time achievement award where he gave a great speech, providing an overview of how his manufacturing company grew over the past 40 years and how his company impacts local businesses in a very positive way. Other awards went to Kin Khao Thai Restaurant, Baysports, Athlone Training Centre, Grenham Travel, Athlone Tidy Towns, McGorisk’s Pharmacy, Savoury Fare, Alexion, Woodfit Acoustics, and Debapay. A special congratulations to Regina Bushell who won the Business Person of the Year Award and Colm Quinn who won the Business of the Year Award. It was great to see the multinational companies represented on the night – Erickson, Teleflex, Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Alexion; as well as local companies – IO Systems, Woodfit, and Smart Business Analytics.

Congratulation to Athlone Chamber and its President John McGrath for such a successful event. We look forward to attending more.

From all our team here in the Collins McNicholas Athlone office – Mary, Ita, Tina, Donie, Jamie, Caroline, and Terry, thanks for a great night.
